Emotional Edge Opens at CLAUG with Curatorial Conversation and Strong Community Response
In Collaboration with Espacio Mancha | Chile

Miami Shores, FL — CLAUG recently welcomed guests for the opening of Emotional Edge, a capsule exhibition presented in collaboration with Espacio Mancha, featuring the work of Chilean artists Francisca Garriga and Consuelo Walker. The evening brought together collectors, artists, and members of the Miami Shores community for a thoughtful exploration of contemporary textile practices and the emotional narratives embedded in material and form.
The event included a special curatorial conversation between Mónica Isla, founder of Espacio Mancha, and Carlos Andrade, founder of CLAUG, offering guests a deeper understanding of the ideas behind the exhibition and the practices of the featured artists. Through this dialogue, Isla shared insights into the artists’ processes, discussing how both Garriga and Walker engage with themes of accumulation, memory, and emotional tension through textile-based work.

Emotional Edge explores the boundary where material experimentation meets emotional expression. The works presented invite viewers to consider how seemingly simple materials—threads, fabrics, and layered structures—can carry complex narratives of memory, identity, and domestic histories.
The exhibition marks another step in CLAUG’s commitment to creating spaces for cross-cultural artistic exchange, particularly between Latin American artists and Miami’s growing creative community. The collaboration with Espacio Mancha underscores a shared mission to highlight innovative voices in contemporary textile art.
CLAUG extends its sincere gratitude to everyone who attended the opening and helped make the evening such a meaningful gathering. Special thanks go to Mónica Isla and Espacio Mancha for their partnership and for sharing their curatorial perspective with the CLAUG community.
