EMOTIONAL EDGE
Featuring selected works by: Francisca Garriga and Consuelo Walker
On Thursday, February 26 at 7:00 PM, CLAUG Creative Studio presents Emotional Edge, a capsule exhibition developed in collaboration with Espacio Mancha, a contemporary art gallery based in Chile.

The exhibition brings together works by Chilean artists Francisca Garriga and Consuelo Walker, whose practices begin with rigid, angular, or structured elements and arrive at something unexpectedly intimate, playful, and sensorial. Across both bodies of work, tension is not erased but softened — sharpness reorganized into rhythm, and edge transformed into emotion.
The evening will include a conversation led by Monica Isla, member of the Espacio Mancha team, who will be present to share curatorial context and discuss the works with attendees.
A Dialogue of Material and Sensibility
Rather than approaching sharpness as aggression or severity, Emotional Edge explores how structure can give way to softness, and how formal rigor can coexist with intimacy. The exhibition proposes a shared sensibility across two distinct practices — one grounded in visual perception and geometry, the other rooted in textile accumulation and domestic memory.
Francisca Garriga’s work originates in a visual investigation guided by color, space, and form as essential coordinates of a plastic language. These elements function not merely as formal resources, but as sensitive links that invite the viewer on a perceptual journey — one that moves from color toward the geometric, from surface toward spatial experience.
Consuelo Walker, whose practice centers on textile art, works through concepts of accumulation and excess. Drawing from domestic techniques such as sewing and embroidery — practices charged with memory and feminine tradition — Walker transforms humble materials found in the sewing box into layered compositions. Through repetition and density, everyday objects acquire new meaning, offering a visual and sensory experience that reinterprets the familiar.
