Consuelo Walker

Chilean visual artist whose practice focuses on textile art, exploring the concepts of accumulation and excess. She holds a BFA from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and a Master’s degree in Cultural Management from the University of Chile. Her work has been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in Chile, the United States, and Europe, including the National Museum of Fine Arts and Pinta Miami. In 2024, she represented Chile at the Contemporary Textile Art Biennial in Portugal.

 

Her work emerges from the domestic sphere and from techniques such as sewing and embroidery, practices rich with memory and feminine tradition. She works with simple materials found in a sewing kit, transforming them through accumulation and repetition. In this process, everyday objects acquire new meanings, inviting the viewer into a visual and sensory experience that reinterprets the familiar.
